The official farewell meeting organized by the Divisional Secretary and all the office officers was held today at the office auditorium to mark the retirement of Mrs. Deepika Siriwardena, who worked as an officer and administrative officer at the Kataragama Divisional Secretariat.

A large crowd attended the farewell ceremony of her is retiring after serving the people of the Kataragama Divisional Secretariat for 38 years with a wealth of experience in her professional career.

The Chief Adhikarana Sanghanayake of the Ruhunu Magam Patthuwa Venerable Kapugama Saranatissa Thero and other monks, the Chairman of the Kataragama Pradeshiya Sabha, Hon. H.M.D. Herath and other political representatives, officials representing all government institutions, the Assistant Divisional Secretary representing the Kataragama Divisional Secretariat and all office officials, and family friends of Mrs. Deepika Siriwardena also participated in this event. In addition, representatives from civil society organizations and the people of the area also participated.

Under the rainwater harvesting program implemented by the Minister of Housing Construction and Water Supply, rainwater tanks were provided to people in rural areas without drinking water facilities at the office premises under the patronage of the Kataragama Divisional Secretary, while 5000 liter water tanks were distributed to beneficiaries in the Sellakataragama and Karawile Grama Niladhari Divisions.

Kataragama Divisional Secretary K. Prageeth Kulathilaka, Assistant Director Planning, Economic Development Officer of Karawile Grama Niladhari Division and relevant beneficiaries participated in this event.
